Your Role on the Team

Position Summary:
Provides direct supervision typically to professionals or skilled technical employees. Functions as an advisor to the unit and administration. Analyzes and resolves problems, interprets policies (e.g., fiscal management, HR, contracts and grants, resource management in defined areas), and demonstrates solid subject matter knowledge. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action. Supervises staff to assure accountability and stewardship of department resources (operational, financial, and human) in compliance with departmental goals and objectives.Supervises staff performing neurodiagnostic testing and monitoring patients before, during, and after testing and/or monitoring. Oversees employees, enforces policies and procedures, and monitors.

What It Takes to be Successful

Required Qualifications:

Must possess the skill, knowledge, and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties

Must possess a current CNIM Certificate and R.EEG.T from ABRET

Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job

Five or more years of experience in the performance of IONM procedures and EEGs at EMU and ICU.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Current BLS certification required by time of hire

Bachelor's degree in a science or healthcare related field

Advanced knowledge of EP and IOM acquisition and artifact detection/elimination

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System

Ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with physicians, researchers, radiology technicians, and other clinical staff

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience working in the UC Irvine Medical Center operating room

Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
