What Strategic Sourcing - Global Products contributes to Cardinal Health

Global Sourcing is responsible for creating and managing diverse strategic supplier partnerships that drive enterprise value with innovation, best cost and competitive advantages that benefit customers, suppliers and patients. Develops and executes strategic plans by leveraging market intelligence, industry knowledge and cross-functional collaboration. Competitive advantage is created through supplier selection and management, contract negotiation, supply chain optimization and risk mitigation.

Strategic Sourcing Global Products is responsible for managing a portfolio of Cardinal Brand products, raw materials, spend and suppliers. Development and execution of global sourcing strategies to achieve best total value, sustainable productivity and high levels of quality and service aligned with business objectives.

Location: The ideal candidate will reside within a reasonable commuting distance of one of our office locations: Dublin, OH; Waukegan, IL; Mansfield, MA; or El Paso, TX.

Schedule: Hybrid. 2x a week in office.

Job Summary

The Manager, Strategic Sourcing Global Products is an individual contributor that participates in the development of the strategic sourcing strategy as well as execution of the sourcing process, and all of its associated activities. This job manages the global supplier portfolio and ensures that suppliers are able to provide strategic and tactical activities for Cardinal Health?s long-term plans. The job looks cross-functionally to ensure that supply chain and financial goals are met.

Responsibilities

• Manage a significant portfolio of suppliers supporting films and flexible materials for the Medical manufacturing network.
• Develops effective short and long-term category strategies to include supply chain continuity, risk management, optimizing supplier network and attaining best cost.
• Collaborate with and influence business partners in a highly matrixed environment to optimize key supplier performance and innovation. Influence business decisions to enter/exit product lines, drive make/buy decisions and implement supply in optimizations.
• Proactive leadership and management with cross-functional partners to effectively select suppliers, negotiate favorable contracts and manage supplier performance and relationships.
• Facilitates Supplier Relationship Management through development and tracking of Key Performance Indicators for the category; establishes collaborative environment with key suppliers and business partners to optimize supplier performance and innovation.
• Lead negotiation/implementation of Agreements; develops contract terms and conditions to elevate rates/terms and mitigate risk.
• Indirectly manages a team in the development and execution of global medical supply strategies to achieve best total value, sustainable productivity and high levels of quality and service aligned with business requirements.
• Deep stakeholder engagement to influence business decisions relevant to the category strategy.
• Drives annual cost savings through effective strategies and negotiations.
• Sets aggressive continuous improvement goals for assigned categories and explores a broad set of value levers to deliver through others on targets.
• Interact with subordinates, peers, customers, and suppliers at various management levels; may interact with senior management
• Understand the Medical supplier portfolio risk profile and develop mitigation actions and plans.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience, preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred.
• Expertise with contract requirements to negotiate critical terms and conditions in line with category strategy.
• Demonstrates a strong financial acumen.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
• Ability to coach and develop a team in strategy development and sourcing execution.
• Superior interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills able to communicate effectively and interact with personnel at all levels of technical ability and expertise, as well as external suppliers.

Anticipated salary range: $105,100 - $150,100
