The Senior Associate Director of Admissions is responsible for the leadership and execution of admissions operations, including staff supervision, recruitment initiatives, and applicant engagement throughout the admissions cycle.
Reporting to the Chief Enrollment Officer, the Senior Associate Director of Admissions plays a central role in managing the execution of admissions processes and contributes thoughtfully to strategic planning and the design of the prospective family experience. This role is well suited for an experienced admissions professional who values operational leadership, strategic dialogue, and close partnership with senior enrollment leadership.
The Chief Enrollment Officer provides overall leadership for enrollment strategy, retention, financial assistance, prospective family experience design, admissions committee, and institutional partnerships. Within this structure, the Senior Associate Director of Admissions manages the admissions office and staff, while collaborating closely with the Chief Enrollment Officer to ensure alignment between execution and institutional priorities.

Salary Range (California Pay Transparency Requirement)
$100,000.00 – $125,000.00 Annual USD

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Admissions Operations & Staff Leadership
Manage the day-to-day operations of the admissions office
Supervise, coach, and evaluate admissions staff, including Associate Directors and the School Receptionist
Establish office workflows and timelines
Ensure consistent, professional, and equitable experiences for all prospective families
Monitor staff capacity and operational effectiveness and identify emerging risks or constraints.
Admissions Cycle & Family Experience Implementation
Work closely with the Chief Enrollment Officer on the design of major admissions touchpoints and help ensure that they align with institutional priorities
Translate experience design direction and enrollment priorities into clear operational plans
Lead the team of Associate Directors in the implementation of off-campus high school fairs/classroom visits and on-campus admissions events including campus tours, program spotlights, student panels, and other experiences
Ensure consistency of experience across staff, student ambassadors, and family facing interactions
Evaluate the effectiveness of admissions touchpoints and recommend changes and enhancements to the Chief Enrollment Officer. Collaborate on redesigns when appropriate.
Strategic Contribution & Thought Partnership
Serve as a thought partner to the Chief Enrollment Officer through analysis, reflection, and strategic conversation
Offer thoughtful feedback on ideas and suggest practical alternatives
Propose and help develop new initiatives that strengthen the admissions department and advance the school’s enrollment goals
Collaborate with the Chief Enrollment Officer in educating faculty and staff about admissions priorities and their role in meeting recruitment goals
Participate in structured planning conversations with the Chief Enrollment Officer throughout the year
External Partnerships & Relationship Portfolio
Manage a defined portfolio of partner schools as the primary admissions contact
Maintain consistent communication and relationship stewardship with assigned partners
Attend key external partnership meetings and events alongside the Chief Enrollment Officer when institutional presence is required
Share insights from partner schools and external stakeholders with Chief Enrollment Officer
Create more efficient and effective ways of tracking relationships with prospective families.

Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s Degree or higher
Significant experience in admissions in an independent school setting
Demonstrated success leading teams and managing complex operational workflows
