Part Time Instructor - Mathematics

The Blinn College District is searching for a Part Time Instructor - Mathematics at our Bryan Campus.

Job Summary

Perform the day-to-day operations of instructional programs onthe assigned campus.


Principal Accountabilities

• Provide instruction for courses at a variety of times and locations.
• Demonstrate a commitment to student engagement, student success, and instructional excellence.
• Maintain access to students through posted office hours and electronic communication.
• Prepare and utilize a course syllabus and assessments for each course using guidelines established by the institution.
• Maintain current knowledge of effective teaching methodologies and utilize a variety of instructional delivery methods, classroom media, and educational resources.
• Advise students in academic matters.
• Evaluate student performance through a variety of means to measure progress while informing students in a timely manner.
• Assist in the development, distribution and collection of assessments for courses and program objectives.
• Provide recommendations to the Academic Dean, Assistant Dean, Department Heads, and Curriculum Resource Teams regarding curriculum.
• Demonstrate a positive and professional relationship with students, colleagues, college administration, and the community.
• Provide information requested of all faculty.
• Submit timely college reports and forms to the appropriate divisions/departments.
• Exhibit a commitment to lifelong learning through participation in professional development activities.
• Possess a passion for teaching community college students.
• Demonstrate effectivecommunication skills, both written and orally.
• Attend collegeorientation and requiredinstitutional meetings.
• Responsible for other relatedduties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications/ Required Degree, License or Certifications

• Master's degree or higher with at least 18 graduate hours in mathematics or statistics; or, bachelor's degree with at least 12 hours in undergraduate mathematics. All coursework must be from an accredited college or university.

• Teaching Experience (either at the college or secondary level) required.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• College teaching experience, including teaching college-level STEM mathematics courses such as Calculus.

• Ph.D., M.S., or M.A. in Mathematics
