General Requirements:
Bachelor's degree required in related field. Master's degree preferred. Graduate of the LEMITLCC, or similar law enforcement executive development program preferred (ILEA, FBINA, SPI, etc.). Four years of experience in a related field. Additional education may be considered in lieu of experience.
Nature & Purpose of Position/Usual Duties:
Performs complex coordination and managerial work administering the daily operations and activities of Bill Blackwood LEMIT.
Primary Responsibilities (Staff Positions Only):
Manages Bill Blackwood LEMIT programs and activities of assigned staff. Develops and approves schedules, priorities and standards for achieving goals. Plans, implements, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates policies and procedures. Monitors compliance with policies and procedures. Develops, implements and evaluates program materials. Identifies areas of change and makes recommendations to improve operations. Monitors budget and expenses within programs. Travels to facilitate training programs and attend conferences, trainings, and other law enforcement entities on behalf of LEMIT and SHSU. Performs other related duties as assigned.
