We are seeking a full-time science teacher with content specific expertise in Chemistry to teach at any level of chemistry.  Full-time teachers at Sierra Canyon School are responsible for five class sections, a grade level advisory, and supporting community activities throughout the year.  Our current need for the 26-27 academic year is for 4 or 5 sections of 10^th grade lab-based chemistry.  Secondary advanced elective courses are offered in all three major areas of science, so teachers can propose a science elective course of interest as a part of their full-time class load.  Classes meets 4 times a week in an 8-day rotating schedule. 

Education:  B.S. in Chemistry Required, M.S. in Chemistry Preferred, or B.S. in any science discipline with extensive coursework in Chemistry 

Experience:  2-3 Years of teaching in the sciences at the middle or high school level preferred

Sierra Canyon School is a nonprofit independent, nondenominational, coeducational day school in the northern San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles. With an enrollment of 1,150 students in grades PK-12, admission is selective. Sierra Canyon School is located on 42 beautiful, rustic acres and has two campuses across the street from each other: the Lower Campus for students in grades Pre-Kindergarten through Six and the state-of-the-art Upper Campus for students in grades Seven through Twelve.
