Sierra Canyon seeks a passionate and dedicated educator to join our Science Department team in creating a dynamic space of learning. We are seeking a full-time science teacher with content specific expertise in Chemistry to teach at any level of chemistry. Full-time teachers at Sierra Canyon School are responsible for five class sections, a grade level advisory, and supporting community activities throughout the year. Our current need for the 26-27 academic year is for 4 or 5 sections of 10th grade lab-based chemistry. Secondary advanced elective courses are offered in all three major areas of science, so teachers can propose a science elective course of interest as a part of their full-time class load. Classes meets 4 times a week in an 8-day rotating schedule.
Education:B.S. in Chemistry Required, M.S. in Chemistry Preferred, or B.S. in any science discipline with extensive coursework in Chemistry
Experience: 2-3 Years of teaching in the sciences at the middle or high school level preferred

Sierra Canyon School is a nonprofit independent, nondenominational, coeducational day school in the northern San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles. With an enrollment of 1,150 students in grades PK-12, admission is selective. Sierra Canyon School is located on 42 beautiful, rustic acres and has two campuses across the street from each other: the Lower Campus for students in grades Pre-Kindergarten through Six and the state-of-the-art Upper Campus for students in grades Seven through Twelve. Students of color comprise over 50% of the student body, 10% are international students, and students reside in 102 different zip codes. There are roughly 500 students on the Lower Campus and 670 students on the Upper Campus with 134 students in the Class of 2026.
At its core, Sierra Canyon School develops students who are as keen to realize their potential as their teachers are to inspire it.
