Mt. Wheeler is seeking a skilled Operations Manager to lead our distribution electric utility operations department and ensure safe, reliable, and efficient service to our members and employees. This leadership role is part of the Senior Executive Team and plays a key role in the success of our organization through strategic planning and daily operations.
This position directs the cooperative safety program ensuring a safe work environment and culture.
The successful candidate must have a high school diploma and additional technical training in the electrical industry. A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in electrical utility safety, operations, construction and maintenance or project management is required.
The successful candidate must have a strong knowledge of electrical transmission and distribution systems, be familiar with National Electric Code (NEC), National Electric Safety Code (NESC) OSHA regulations. An understanding of equipment standards, specifications and utility operations as well as proficiency with relevant software and information systems.
The successful candidate must demonstrate high ethical standards, strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, effective communication with the ability to represent the organization at high levels, the ability to motivate teams with a forward-thinking mindset and a focus on continuous improvement. Applicant must hold a current valid driver’s license. A Nevada commercial driver's license Class A endorsement must be acquired within 120 days of employment.
