| Description: The University of Houston Law Center is looking for either a Program Manager level 1 or level 2 for the Pre-Law Pipeline Programs PM1: Manages the day-to-day operations of a small or medium-sized university program or department. May supervise staff employees, student workers, programs or processes.
1. Plans and develops procedures for administering a small or medium-sized department or program. 2. Oversees program expenditures and ensures adherence to budget. 3. Provides guidance to subordinate staff and evaluates performance. 4. May prepare or participate in the creation of abstracts, research reports, funding proposals, operations and procedure manuals, and other written material and documentation. 5. Reviews reports of budgets and activities. 6. Prepares ad hoc reports as needed. 7. May administer grants and grant-related related communications, scholarships and other operations. 8. Develops, implements and maintains appropriate policies and procedures. 9. May serve as property custodian for the department. 10. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
MQ: Education: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Experience: No experience required.

Creates and reviews reports of expenditures and activities. 6. May administer grants and grant-related related communications, scholarships and other operations. 7. Develops, implements and maintains appropriate policies and procedures. 8. May serve as property custodian for the department. 9. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Program Details: The University of Houston Law Center Pre-Law Pipeline Programs are preparatory initiatives designed to equip first-generation undergraduate students, aspiring first-generation law students, and individuals from low-income backgrounds with essential information, tools, and training to develop a successful law school application. Our programs include LSAT instruction, introductory law school classes, placements in law-related internships, and professional development training, all designed for students eager to fulfill their dreams of attending law school and pursuing a successful legal career. UHLC Pre-Law Pipeline Programs are administered in accordance with applicable law and university nondiscrimination policies and are open to all qualified participants.

Attends to administrative tasks such as program inquiries, phone calls, and calendaring, in a highly detailed, systematic, and organized manner 3. Works well independently, is a self-starter, and takes initiative 4. Dependable and reliable as a vital member of a small team 5. A quick learner with the ability to apply newly introduced information efficiently and effectively 6. Familiar with Microsoft platforms such as Word, Outlook, Forms, Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Excel. 7. Familiar with Google Drive and Zoom 8. Able to address urgent department matters as they arise 9. Willing to assist in Program Director and program development on a micro and macro level. 10. Works well with and collaborates with others, including the Program Director, college work-study students, and graduate student workers 11. Able to manage and supervise a small team, including the ability to delegate tasks 12. Prompt and timely with assigned tasks and deadlines. 13. Creative and resourceful in developing new program management concepts, such as surveys, polls, and engagement assessments 14. Able to prepare and put on presentations (virtually and in-person) for the department to prospective program participants 15.
