Overview:
At Cedars-Sinai, we recognize that each patient?s journey related to hereditary cancer risk is unique. Cedars-Sinai is expanding its Breast Center with a dedicated BRCA-focused clinic, bringing together a multidisciplinary team of specialists to provide comprehensive, coordinated care. This program integrates expertise across breast surgical oncology, gynecologic oncology, reproductive endocrinology, and genetics to address the full spectrum of patient needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as a primary point of contact for patients with inherited BRCA1/2 mutations, guiding them through guiding them through evaluation, risk management, and longitudinal care.
Collaborate with oncologists, genetic counselors, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive, patient-centered care.
Educate patients and families about genetic testing options and implications, ensuring they understand the role genetics play in their cancer care.
Provide emotional support and connect patients with appropriate psychosocial and practical resources, addressing questions and concerns throughout their care journey.
Facilitate access to clinical trials, screening programs, and preventive care services available at Cedars-Sinai.
Help coordinate streamlined referrals and appointment scheduling in other specialty departments as needed.
Review and analyze genetic test results to ensure appropriate patients are seen through this clinic.
Document patient interactions and maintain accurate, comprehensive medical records in accordance with clinical and regulatory standards.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
Valid RN license in California.
Bachelor?s degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master?s degree preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience, with a strong emphasis on oncology nursing.
Experience with genetic markers related to breast cancer and understanding of genetic counseling processes.
Exceptional communication skills with a strong ability to empathize and provide compassionate patient care.
Proven ability to navigate complex healthcare systems and advocate for patients' needs.
Certification in Oncology Nursing (OCN) or advanced genetics nursing certification is a plus.
