Our maternal-fetal medicine specialists partner with doctors and healthcare professionals from many fields of medicine at Cedars-Sinai to deliver the most specialized, well-rounded care. We provide prenatal testing for both routine and high-risk pregnancies. Prenatal testing involves screening for problems with the pregnancy or baby and making any necessary diagnoses so treatment can begin as soon as possible.
Summary of Essential Duties:
Provides direct & indirect patient care services such as: NSTs, rooming patients, administering medications, performing phlebotomy, and chaperoning sonographers and physicians
Assists physicians in procedures (CVS, AMNIO), coordinatespatient scheduling during a holiday weekend or add-on NSTs
Educates patients, answers phone calls or inbox questions from patients
Coordinates with Labor & Delivery for patient handoffs
Communicates with nurses, physicians, and staff regarding patient care or scheduling.
Gives patient information to charge nurse and nurses taking over care of a patient on the Labor & Delivery unit
Utilizes computer to document on patients? progress, and ensure that all patients are being cared for in a timely manner
Takes pride in documenting in real time or as soon as it is possible
Communicates verbally with MDs if something is urgent or emergent
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Education:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program required
Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
License/Certification:
Current, unrestricted California RN License required
American Heart Association Basic Life Support required
American Heart Association PALS
Experience:
A minimum of 1 years of acute care experience required
Experience working in an ambulatory high risk obstetrical clinic environment preferred
