The Department of Pathology at the University of California San Francisco seeks an outstanding candidate for a full-time clinical faculty position as a Neuropathologist, for an academic appointment in the Clinical X or In Residence series, at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor, depending on level or experience and qualifications.
Duties and responsibilities include clinical service obligations on the surgical neuropathology service, as well as other neuropathology subspecialty areas, commensurate with the candidate's experience and expertise. Options for the latter include, but are not limited to molecular, autopsy, neuromuscular, and ophthalmic neuropathology services. Clinical X and In Residence faculty within the Neuropathology Division are also expected to participate in academic activities that include clinical and/or basic research (investigator-initiated or collaborative), as well as teaching of medical school students, residents, fellows, and non-Pathology faculty colleagues.
The successful candidate must possess an MD, MD/PhD, or an equivalent degree and hold, or be eligible for, California medical license by the time of hire. Applicant's materials must list (pending) qualifications upon submission. Salary and appointment rank will be commensurate with the applicant's experience and training.
The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $121,900 - $405,900. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
