At MultiCare, we are united by our mission of partnering for healing and a healthy future. We are seeking a seasoned Senior Financial Analyst to support acute care hospital operations within MultiCare’s Inland Northwest Region.
This is a high-impact role supporting hospital leadership with advanced operational and financial analytics.
Position Overview
This role is specifically focused on acute care hospital finance and operations. We are seeking a highly experienced analyst who can step into a complex hospital environment and contribute immediately.
The ideal candidate brings deep experience in hospital-based financial analysis, strong accounting knowledge, advanced SQL data extraction skills, and direct experience working with EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner.
This position supports hospital operations finance and requires minimal onboarding in core hospital financial concepts.
What You’ll Do
Lead budgeting, forecasting, month-end close support, and variance analysis for acute care hospital operations
Analyze cost center performance, labor productivity, and service line financial performance
Extract and manipulate data directly from EHR systems and financial databases using SQL
Reconcile general ledger detail to operational data sources
Develop executive-ready financial reporting and presentations
Conduct rate/volume, payor mix, and procedure mix analyses
Provide ROI analysis for new programs and capital initiatives
Support mid-month forecasting and long-range financial planning
Partner closely with hospital leaders to explain performance drivers and identify improvement opportunities
Mentor junior analysts and contribute to team development
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related quantitative field
Minimum five (5) years of financial analysis experience within an acute care hospital environment
Strong accounting foundation with experience reconciling general ledger detail
Ability to independently manage complex projects and meet deadlines
Strong collaboration and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a large health system
Master’s degree or CPA
Experience with Workday, Laborlytics, Kronos, or other hospital finance tools
SSRS or BI tool experience
Important Note
This role requires prior experience in hospital operations finance. Experience limited to banking, corporate finance, or non-healthcare financial environments will not provide the necessary foundation for success in this position.
