Assistant Director of Annual Giving
The Nueva School
Nueva is an independent PK–12 school for gifted learners, and one of the most dynamic development teams in Bay Area independent schools. We've just completed a $125 million campaign, we're raising $6.5M+ in annual giving, and we're building toward our next comprehensive campaign. We're looking for someone ready to grow with us.
The Assistant Director of Annual Giving is a hands-on program role with real ownership. You'll manage the day-to-day implementation of the Nueva Fund, run our giving volunteer program, cultivate a portfolio of mid-level donors, lead our Count-Me-In Marketplace, and help welcome new families into our culture of philanthropy. You'll work closely with the Associate Director of Development for Giving and collaborate across a seven-person team that operates with high standards and genuine camaraderie.
This is a great opportunity for someone with 3 to 5 years of fundraising experience who's ready to take on more and wants to do it at a school where the mission is worth showing up for.
This position reports to the Associate Director of Development for Giving. Work is performed in person across Nueva's two campuses in Hillsborough and San Mateo.
Responsibilities
Run the Nueva Fund. Collaborate with the Associate Director of Development for Giving on strategy, messaging, and execution of Nueva's annual giving program. Manage the annual giving calendar, maintain dashboards and reporting, and help move mid-level donors ($1,000–$9,999) toward deeper engagement with the school.
Manage the giving volunteer program. Recruit, train, and support annual giving volunteers across all constituencies. Maintain the volunteer manuals and communications infrastructure. Help build a pipeline of future leadership donors and campaign ambassadors.
Lead new family outreach. Develop and manage the communications, events, and touchpoints that introduce incoming families to Nueva's philanthropic community from day one. Manage the New Family Ambassador volunteers.
Run the Count-Me-In Marketplace. Steward and implement the annual spring Count Me In (CMI) Marketplace, from volunteer recruitment and event solicitation through payment tracking and post-event stewardship. Analyze performance and help evolve the program year-over-year.
Support the campaign. Contribute to Nueva's upcoming comprehensive campaign in a defined support role, helping with prospect identification, materials, and communications, and building the bridge between annual giving and campaign engagement.
Participate in community events. Attend evening and weekend events as needed. Be a visible, genuine presence at drop-off, lunch, and school events — the kind of person families are happy to build a relationship with.
