Do you want to work with a team that’s focused on cooperation and service? San Miguel Power Association, Inc. (SMPA) is seeking to fill the position of Manager of Information Technology. The successful applicant may report out of either of our Nucla or Ridgway office locations within our beautiful service territory. SMPA is a non-profit electric cooperative with an 80-year record of service to our membership. SMPA includes a positive atmosphere, a culture rooted in teamwork, a 4-10 work schedule, and offers an excellent salary and benefits package.
JOB SUMMARY
The Manager of Information Technology is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining SMPA’s information technology strategy in alignment with the cooperative’s mission and strategic goals. This role oversees all IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, enterprise systems, telecommunications, and GIS-related technologies supporting electric utility operations.
The position ensures the reliability, security, and efficiency of systems critical to electric service delivery, regulatory compliance, and member services.
We're looking for a leader who:
Drives a proactive and resilient cybersecurity posture
Ensures high availability and performance of critical systems and infrastructure
Balances strategic planning with hands-on technical leadership
Understands and supports technology needs in electric utility operations
Leads incident response, disaster recovery, and business continuity efforts with confidence
Builds and mentors a skilled, responsive IT team
Communicates effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Partners across departments to implement practical, scalable technology solutions
