Under the supervision of the Valet Parking Supervisor, valet park vehicles for Santa Barbara UCLA Medical Center patients, visitors and faculty and stack park staff vehicles. Your responsibilities include:
Maintain excellent customer service standards as outlined by department policies and procedures.
Issue ticket receipts after inspecting and documenting any prior vehicle damage.
Retrieve vehicles in a timely manner.
Collect and secure cash and issue receipts.
Write down the license plate, make of car & exact location of where car is parked on valet ticket.
Park vehicle in underground lot across the street.
Tag keys and store in key box.
Shift: 11:00am - 7:00pm on variable days which may include weekends and holidays
Salary range: $21.07 - $25.16 / Hourly
Qualifications
Possess and maintain current and valid California Driver’s license
Ability to clearly and concisely express ideas using appropriate vocabulary and spelling.
Ability to complete continual training classes as required. (Training provided)
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with Santa Barbara UCLA Clinic Employees, Physicians, Visitors, Patients, Management, Security Management, Local Law Enforcement and surrounding community.
Ability to complete Daily Valet Logs and ensure the logs are accurate, legible and turned in on a daily bases.
Ensure all miscellaneous paperwork is accurate, legible, grammatically correct and turned in within established time lines.
Ensure issued uniform is neat, clean and serviceable. and all mandatory equipment is worn/carried at all times.
All apparel is worn following established guidelines and appearance is well groomed: hair, personal hygiene, facial hair, and cosmetics all adhere to established guidelines.
Adheres to unscheduled absences standard for meetings and training. as well as to unscheduled absences standard for assigned work ·
Adheres to punctuality standard for assigned work. and to punctuality standard for meetings and training.
Adheres to unexcused (no call/no show) absence standard.
Demonstrate ability to make sound decisions in the absence of detailed instructions or supervision.
Maintains excellent customer service.
Issues tickets inspect vehicles and documents damage before parking them.
Parking and retrieving vehicles in a timely manner.
Collects and secures cash issued receipts.
Mark down the exact location of where the vehicle is parked on ticket.
Tag keys and store in key cabinet correctly.
Drive vehicles at an appropriate speed.
Writes down license plate and make of vehicle on tickets.
Drive vehicles safely at all times.
Appropriate language used on two way radios.
Secure cash drawer consistently.

Protect patient/customer confidentiality.
Required to hold valid driver's license, have a driving record that is in accordance with local policies/procedures, and/or enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program.
Senate Bill 525 was signed into law by Governor Newsom in October 2023. Starting June 1, 2024, SB525 sets a new $23
minimum wage for nonexempt healthcare workers and raises the exempt employee salary threshold to $1,380/week
(equivalent to $5,980/month or $71,760/year).
1. As defined under SB525, healthcare workers are defined as employees who are involved in the provision of "health care
services," which means "patient care-related services including nursing; caregiving; services provided by medical residents,
interns, or fellows; technical and ancillary services; janitorial work; housekeeping; grounds keeping; guard duties; business
office clerical work; food services; laundry; medical coding and billing; call center and warehouse work; scheduling; and gift
shop work; but only where such services support patient care".
2. Employees (career, contract, student, per diem) in the UCLA Health medical facilities (e.g. Ronald Reagan Medical Center,
Santa Monica UCLA Hospital, Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital, etc.) meet these criteria.
Position is subject to the California DMV's "Pull Notice System" and continued employment is contingent upon proof of a satisfactory driving record.
