The Senior Custodian position includes but is not limited to performing semi-skilled and skilled cleaning, housekeeping and/or general maintenance duties in all areas on the UCDH campus; waste handling for regular, regulated medical waste (rmw) and linen waste and perform other duties as assigned.
The Senior Custodian ensures all necessary procedures for equipment are used in accordance with departmental safety policies.
This position is physically demanding and will require a great deal of lifting, stretching, walking and bending.

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position
Customer service experience
Skills to organize and prioritize workload to complete work effectively
Verbal and written communication skills to read, write and follow oral and written instructions in English
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated custodial experience/housekeeping in a large facility (100+ rooms) for minimum of 6 months
Knowledge of and skills to operate power machines such as: floor care equipment and trash compactor.
Skills to use mobile devices, Vocera and other communication devices
Skills to use computers, access email and other necessary UC programs
Skills to work collaboratively and independently within a diverse team and fast paced environment

Work Environment
UC Davis is a smoke and tobacco free campus effective January 1, 2014.
