Key Responsibilities

• Support of the mission, goals, and objectives of OHSU, The Knight Cancer Institute, The CMH-OHSU Knight Cancer Collaborative, The Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology, and the School of Medicine.
• Care of patients with hematologic and oncologic disease in the community clinic setting at CMH in Astoria, OR. Engages surgeons, radiologists, pathologists, and primary care providers in the care of hematology and oncology patients.
• Leads Cancer Committee (CoC) and Breast and General tumor boards. Participate with other Division and CHO staff and provider teams, as needed.
• Member of the core leadership team in conjunction with the Administrative Director and Radiation Oncologist who provide Cancer Center program direction. Participate in administrative committees and councils of OHSU and CMH as approved by Division leadership.
• Engage in public service through consultative activities with non-university groups with the knowledge and consent of the Division Head and CHO Section Chief.
• Participate, as desired, in the education of medical students and house staff.
• Participate, as desired, in clinical, translational, and research activities.
• Participates in regulatory and other outside surveys including, but not limited to The Joint Commission, Planetree, and Accreditation Commission for Health Care
• Leads efforts to continually improve the safety, delivery, and value of oncology services
• Ensures operational excellence through the achievement of organizational metrics
• Participates in community projects > Education, Screening, Program Awareness events

Required Education: MD, MD/PhD, DO, MBBS, or MBBCh

Licensure, Certification, and Registration:

• Board Certification in Medical Oncology or Hematology
• Medical oncologist/hematologist licensed to practice medicine in Oregon
• Board certified/board eligible in medical oncology/hematology with a desire to practice in a community-based clinical environment as part of an academic health care system

Preferred Experience: 3 years of Physician Leadership Experience
