Provide on-going technical support through design, engineering, installation, service, maintenance, alignment, and repair of VHF/UHF MHz analog, digital, and trunked dispatch consoles, repeaters, base stations, mobiles, portable subscriber units, TX combiners, RX multi-couplers, antennas systems, and other 2-way radio communication equipment consistent with manufacturer and company guidelines. Also, he/she must assist with design and manage the installation of complex mobile voice and data radio systems. In addition, he/she must maintain positive customer relations. Must possess IP networking knowledge and skills with ability to program, troubleshoot, and perform system diagnostics on complex communication systems. Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities: •Install cable, antenna, mobile, fixed radio, and all associated hardware consistent with project requirements and according to installation and safety standards.•Stage, build, and program RF systems to manufacturer specifications assisting sales personnel to meet customer expectations.•Assist with end user and sales personnel systems training. •Deconstruct installation sites as required.•Work in conjunction with other service technicians to gain knowledge and insight of all equipment.•Inventory and assemble parts prior to installation to ensure correct parts are available to complete project. •Optimize site following installation to ensure system or equipment function properly; perform programming or run diagnostics as appropriate. •Determine customer requirements to assist in developing labor and cost estimates.•Ability to travel to customer locations for all necessary installation, service, and maintenance.•Complete sales/service orders, order fulfillments, and other required work documents. •Maintain positive customer relations. •Accountable for repair cycle times, quality of installation, service, repair, and system maintenance.•Assist other departments as needed.•He/she must be a team player, customer service oriented, willing to learn and able to work flexible hours.•Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs required.
Skills/Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have 3 to 5 years experience with extensive knowledge and understanding of two-way radio theory (RF), IP network, and various communications systems. An FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License, CCT, CCENT, Network+, FCIA, NABER or equivalent industry certification a plus! Candidates must also possess a clean driving record and a valid driver’s license. Excellent communication skills, strong organizational skills, motivated, reliable and proficient with computer software to included Visio, Microsoft Office and CPS/RSS. Two-year degree in electronics field and IP networking is highly desirable. Successful candidates will be motivated, customer service oriented, and professional in appearance. He/she must be willing to travel 50/50 and able to work after normal business hours on call as needed.
