Description
The Calabasas Stein Eye Center, a multi-specialty ophthalmology practice, is seeking an enthusiastic Administrative Assistant to deliver a smooth patient experience. This position will be dedicated to call management to support appointment scheduling, surgery coordination, insurance verification, patient inquiries, and urgent clinical concerns. This role will also serve as a back to the front desk's check in/out process.
Salary Range: $26.42-$37.49 Hourly
Qualifications
Required:
Minimum six months of experience working in healthcare scheduling appointments and overseeing insurance.
Familiarity with current billing practices including governmental plans such as Medicare and Medicaid.
Verbal and written skills in English sufficient to communicate effectively with patients, doctors and staff.
Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with individuals of varied backgrounds effectively, with professionalism, patience and understanding.
Ability to prioritize tasks in a systematic manner to maximize efficiency.
Ability to demonstrate professionalism while dealing with the stressors of operating a multi-line telephone system.
Ability to work with frequent interruptions and to complete assignments in a timely manner.
Preferred:
One year of experience working in clinical teaching environment.
Bilingual in English and Spanish
Experience working in ophthalmology practice and/or working knowledge of Ophthalmic medical terminology.
