The Manager for Transplant Services promotes family-centered care by subscribing to and supporting Phoenix Children’s mission and values. Manages, supports and is accountable for the day-to-day operations and quality of output from the transplant program staff, including APPs and other clinical team members, overseeing operations both inpatient and outpatient, across all phases of transplant care ? including pre-transplant (referral, evaluation, and wait-listing), transplant event and on-going post-transplant follow up for the 3 solid organ transplant programs (heart, kidney, and liver). Develops and manages partnerships with clinicians, physicians, administrative counterparts, and other departments to achieve common goals. Promotes the integration of multidisciplinary work groups to assure quality patient care, education, and research. In partnership with program leadership and transplant quality team, ensures compliance with all OPTN, CMS, federal, state, and local regulatory standards, and requirements. The incumbent must have a bachelor’s in nursing, BLS, Az RN license and at least 5 years’ experience in a combination of RN transplant leadership, preferably within the pediatric population. This is an exempt leadership role that assumes 24-hour accountability for unit coverage.
The Manager, Clinical Service promotes family-centered care by subscribing to and supporting Phoenix Children’s mission and values. This position manages, evaluates and supervises operational functions and activities of an assigned area by guiding and supporting staff. The Manager, Clinical Service also serves as a liaison with other departments to plan, implement, communicate, evaluate and coordinate patient care operations across the enterprise, while also facilitating quick resolution of issues to ensure excellence in a family centered care environment.
Education
Bachelor’s in Nursing. (Required)
Master’s degree in related field. (Preferred)
Experience
Five years of experience in the specialty area or with a pediatric patient population to include leadership and / or supervisory responsibilities. (Required)
Certifications
Current AZ RN license or an RN license from a compact state with multistate privileges or the ability to establish licensure to Arizona law prior to start date. (Required)
Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association. (Required)
PALS certification from the American Heart Association within one year of hire. (Preferred)
National nursing or related certification (e.g. CPN, CCRN, CNML) (Preferred)
Special Skills
Analytical and statistical skills necessary to develop and monitor unit operating and personnel budgets. (Required)
Demonstrates critical thinking and problem solving abilities in order to resolve complex clinical, systems and personnel problems and issues which affect the unit and inpatient departments (Required)
