Under general supervision, perform master journey-level work in the heating, ventilation and air conditional trade involving the installation, diagnosis, troubleshooting, programming and repair of electrical, pneumatic, electronic and computerized controls systems. Responsible for designing, implementing and monitoring new BAS control strategies (technical and procedural) to improve energy efficiency, facilities operations and customer satisfaction. The work involves reading and interpreting building blueprints and HVAC systems diagrams and specifications, isolating and identifying problems, and installing and calibrating controls and equipment according to specifications. The incumbent will be lead responder when Operating Room, procedure rooms, clean/dirty utility rooms and other critical patient care areas report out of range' for relative humidity, temperature and room pressure relationships. Monitor and modify control systems and associated software to ensure optimal functionality and reliability while understanding future needs to ensure continuous and effective improvement through the implementation of projects and programs. Incumbent expected to communicate and escalate, when appropriate, equipment operations and BAS issues.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position
Required to hold a valid California driver's license, have a driving record that is in accordance with local policies/procedures, and/or enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program
Certificate of completion of a recognized apprenticeship, accredited trade school, or the equivalent amount of experience and training comparable to journey level crafts status in HVAC Controls or Building Automation
Minimum of five years of experience in controls/building automation systems, HVAC, facilities and/or energy management on a Hospital Campus.
Experience with energy metering and metrics.
Experience in a healthcare or research laboratory environment.
Must have skills, knowledge and ability to perform all functions of HVAC Control trades in a Health Care facility.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Building Automation Technology, HVAC, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology or similar degree.
Must have experience working with energy monitoring and building automation systems.
Must have knowledge of BAS system software and hardware; proper installation, calibration and set-up procedures of BAS systems; upload/download of various system controllers; installation techniques of BAS systems and applications; configuration and modification of BAS system software and controller logic; a variety of air handling devices and mechanical systems.
Excellent working knowledge of building automation systems (e.g. Johnson Controls, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Niagra, Phoenix Controls)
Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
Knowledge of SQL desirable
Knowledge of database management. Ability to quickly develop proficiency in proprietary software programs.
Knowledge of information technology systems (servers, workstations, software, peripheral equipment) and ability to support functionality and deployment.
Ability to communicate effectively in written format and oral presentations.
Ability to multi-task and establish priorities while maintaining organization in a changing environment.
Must have ability to access areas that are physically restrictive (building mechanical rooms) for routine and investigative field check and surveys.
Must possess the knowledge and skills required to do the above duties successfully, be able to work independently and be able to resolve issues with minimal guidance.
Must be a self-starter with a demonstrated ability to analyze and manage multiple projects simultaneously from initial project requirements through final solution.
Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)

Work Environment
