This position description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification. It is not designed to contain or be interpreted as a comprehensive inventory of all duties, responsibilities and qualifications which may be required of the employee assigned to the position. The incumbent is responsible for analyzing and managing data in the areas of Staff Scheduling, Payroll Timekeeping, Leaves/Return to Work Status, and Attendance for the Division. This incumbent is a member of a team in Perioperative Services who works with the Staff Scheduler to assess staffing needs, is responsible for the Electronic Staffing System, staff scheduling support and provides excellent customer service to facilitate inquiries from Perioperative staff. Incorporates various data sources including timekeeping systems, Leave Management System, data related to State and Federal requirements (FMLA/CFRA/WC leaves) and modified duty. Staff Scheduling consists of maintaining /tracking on-call, holiday time, vacations and professional development leave in accordance with University University and union collective bargaining agreements. This incumbent is an experienced professional and performs duties and responsibilities with high accountability and minimal supervision. Serves as analyst for developing methods and ensures the appropriate methodology, design and participation in Performance, and Quality Improvement projects in the areas of Payroll and Leave Management.

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position
High School diploma or equivalent work experience / training
Demonstrated experience working with electronic staff scheduling systems and timekeeping in a hospital setting
Demonstrated experience in payroll
Ability to research, apply and interpret policies, contracts and rules to ensure accurate timekeeping, to process payroll timely and accurately and for staff scheduling.
Demonstrated spreadsheet skills to create reports for the need; organize, filter, sort date to report findings, illustrate trends, discrepancies and accurate reporting of data sets.
Demonstrated proficiency with word processing, presentation, project tracking, and database programs.
Tact and sensitivity to deal with a wide array of confidential matters exercising sound judgment. Proper judgement to protect, share, determine the appropriate release of sensitive/confidential personnel information.
Strong customer service orientation interacting with staff, executives, members of the hospital community and patients in a professional clear, informative, and diplomatic manner.
Ability to construct error-free prose that conveys meaning to readers with clarity and fluency. Write text that effectively communicates ideas, facts, and/or information for the target audience appropriate for the assignment.
Apply the conventions of standard written English.
The position requires independent judgment and autonomous practice in work.
Adaptability, flexibility and ability to maintain composure during stressful and/or adverse conditions.
Develops methods and ensures the appropriate methodology, design and deployment of Process, Performance, and Quality Improvement projects.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field preferred
Experience managing and analyzing data with minimal supervision
Knowledge of technical and administrative procedures and protocols within the division
Ability to autonomously learn, use, and interpret advanced software programs and operating systems as needed for the position
Ability to apply/enforce policy and procedures when making decision, always maintaining confidentiality
Skilled in problem recognition and timely resolution management techniques
Ability to recognize and report deviations from normal procedures/practices
Ability to organize workflow efficiently, meeting established turn-around-times and deadlines
Skilled in workflow prioritization, especially in response to urgent/high priority requests
Demonstrated ability in working as a member of a team, effectively communicating needs and assisting others as needed
Ability to follow department dress code, conduct oneself in a professional manner, and ensure University issued Photo ID Badge is always visible while onsite
Ability to maintain accurate timekeeping records.
Ability to complete work tasks and projects in a timely manner, prioritizing as needed.

Department Overview
Perioperative Services is a large division comprised of clinical departments supporting surgical and procedural areas. Departmental units include and are not limited to the Pavilion Operating Room, PreOp-PACU, Sterile Processing Unit, Same Day Surgery Center, Pre-Anesthesia Clinic (PAC), GI Lab/Endoscopy, Interventional Pulmonary, and Anesthesiology.
