Supervises employees in all phases of golf course maintenance to include maintenance of greens, tee, roughs and peripheral golf course areas.
Manages daily course preparations for both member/guest and tournament play.
Assists in personnel management, evaluation, employee safety, personnel discipline and is often responsible for daily work scheduling based on professional interpretation.
Instructs/trains employees on the proper operation and care of equipment; supervises pesticide applications and/or operates and calibrates pesticide application equipment.
Supervises repairs, schedules watering, oversight of maintenance regarding irrigation systems and pumpstations
Job Responsibilities . The assistant superintendent may serve in the superintendent's capacity during his/her absence. · Quality control oversight · Employee scheduling . Safety training and documentation . Operational training and documentation . Time and Labor reporting and input . Pesticide/fertilizer application, calibration and handling responsibilities . Irrigation scheduling, troubleshooting and repair work . Employee motivation · Winter plow duties . Other duties as assigned
2 or 4 year degree or professional degree equivlant in turf management, plant science or other similar agriculturally related degree/field of study
Minimum of three seasons/years of golf maintenance experience
Previous supervisory experience necessary
Valid driver's license and ability to obtain Colorado pesticide applicators license
basic computer operation- Word, Excel, PowerPoint preferred.
English necessary- Any Spanish is helpful but not required
