Greenkeeper Position Summary:

• The Greens keeper role at Mt Whitney Golf Club involves maintaining the golf course through tasks such as mowing, trimming, fertilizing, raking and pest management. The position requires working collaboratively with a team, adapting to changing priorities and weather conditions, and early mornings on the course.

What You'll Do: 

• Be Ready and Reliable: Show up on time for every shift, demonstrating your reliability and commitment to maintaining the Course's pristine condition. 
• Operate Equipment with Care: Perform daily maintenance tasks using a variety of equipment, such as mowers, utility vehicles, chainsaws, and other tools. You'll ensure that all equipment is operated safely and effectively. 
• Maintain and Inspect: Regularly inspect and clean equipment after use, perform minor repairs, and report any mechanical issues promptly. You'll also keep detailed logs of equipment maintenance and fluid use to ensure everything runs smoothly. 
• Keep the Course Pristine: Perform various tasks such as mowing, trimming, raking bunkers, laying sod, and filling divots to maintain the Course and surrounding areas in excellent condition. You'll also assist with setting up the Course for daily play. 
• Adapt to the Weather: Work in all kinds of weather, understanding that maintaining a top golf course requires dedication no matter the conditions. Be ready to handle the job's physical demands, from lifting equipment to standing and walking for long periods. 
• Follow Safety Rules: Stick to all safety guidelines to keep yourself and your team safe. 

What We're Looking For: 

• Experience: Previous experience in golf course maintenance, landscaping, or equipment operation is a plus. However, a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are essential! 
• Problem-Solving Skills: Able to think on your feet, troubleshoot issues, and handle multiple tasks efficiently with minimal supervision. 
• Flexibility: Willingness to work various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. 
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with team members and contribute to a positive work environment. 
• Professionalism: Maintain a positive attitude and professional appearance, ensuring that every guest interaction reflects Mt Whitney Golf Clubs high standards. 
• Background Check:Ability to pass a background check. 

Working Conditions: 

• Schedule: This is a part-time, year-round position. Your work hours include early mornings (6:00 a.m.), weekends, and some holidays. 
• Environmental Exposure: You'll work outdoors and will be exposed to chemicals, equipment movement, and errant golf balls. Safety is always a priority. 
• Equipment You'll Use:
• Greens mowers, rotary mowers, line trimmers, edges, utility vehicles, backpack blowers, sod cutters, tractors, chainsaws, and various hand tools. 

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

• Additional Tasks: Perform maintenance tasks on the golf course and grounds as well as the maintenance facility and clubhouse as assigned and directed. Duties may include, but not limited to, loading and unloading materials, trimming trees, removing cuttings, laying sod, hand raking bunkers, drainage installation and repair, and repairing ball marks and filling divots.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• 1-year experience with equipment and/or in golf course maintenance or landscaping preferred.
• Valid driver’s license. Driving record meeting Company safety policies and guidelines.
• Demonstrated ability to operate golf course equipment.
• Demonstrated quality verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to analyze and solve problems; efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal supervision; work flexible hours as required including nights/weekends.
• Positive attitude, professional manner and appearance in all situations.
• A strong work ethic and dedication to delivering exceptional results.
• A sharp eye for detail and exceptional problem-solving skills.

Classification:

• Part-Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt. 4 Days a week, Up to 24 Hours a week.  $17.00 an Hour.

• Ability to read and write English.
• Communicate verbally with team members and/or guests with or without the use of two-way radios.
• Visually inspect all work areas, golf courses, and grounds complex.
• See players on the golf course, and to follow the flight of golf balls.
• Operate vehicles and equipment for several hours at a time.
• Stand, sit, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, bend and kneel for up to 8 hours at a time.
• Lift up to 100 lbs. occasionally, 50 lbs. frequently, and 20 lbs. constantly.
