The Opportunity:
As a Fiscal Specialist 2, you will perform a variety of complex and technical fiscal processes with minimal oversight. You will exercise independent judgement in interpreting and applying fiscal procedures and guidelines, ensuring compliance with federal, state and university policies and procedures. You will need to understand the variety of funding sources for the College of Medicine, state accounts, grants, and unrestricted funds. Your role will lead contract management for the College of Medicine. You will provide excellent customer service, often during periods of heavy workload and tight deadlines.
In this position you may be responsible and accountable for any of the following fiscal duties:
Procurement of goods and services
Accounts payable
Contract management
Financial analysis
This is a full time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.
Monthly Salary: $3,728 to $4,987 | Step A - M | Range 43 | Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28. Step M is typically a longevity step. In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:
Two years of experience at a level equivalent to Fiscal Specialist 1 AND 15 quarter hours OR 10 semester hours of college level accounting; OR equivalent education/experience.
Additional Requirements:
Demonstrated experience in contract management and/or processing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory management, budget monitoring, and/or grant funding services.
Demonstrated excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office including, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience providing financial support at a higher education institution.
Knowledge of university management practices, processes and policies.
Knowledge of the State of Washington and other funding agency guidelines.
