The Lead Academic Advisor provides support and education to elevate students? learning experience at the University of Idaho. Similar to academic advisors, this position fosters student success by building positive and professional student relationships and by implementing proactive strategies that help students fulfill their educational goals. They will also have content expertise in one or more college(s)/program(s) and will help students select courses and engage in opportunities consistent with their developing goals and interests. This position will also support students? timely progress toward degree completion. Additional duties include, but are not limited to, providing information and clarification regarding university academic policies, creating rapport, and building academic advising relationships, and referring students to appropriate campus resources. They will also serve a critical role in managing the day-to-day operations of an academic advising team and will be responsible for evaluating advisors in their assigned colleges and will work closely with the Director of University Advising Services to ensure advisors continue to meet Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education (CAS), and Vandal Success and University policies, procedures and expectations.
