Summary:

The Senior Accounting Specialist is responsible ensuring the integrity of YRMC's financial records through financial activities including but not limited to Accounts Payable, preparation of journal entries, reconciliation of general ledger accounts and production of ad hoc reports. The Senior Accounting Specialist will be the department liaison with Patient Financial Services, Purchasing Team, Informatics Team and any other department as needed. The role will provide assistance to the Accounting and Financial Planning departments, as needed with analysis, reporting and ad hoc initiatives. The Senior Accounting Specialist will act as the point of contact for any banking systems or software in use (Check Scanners, Smart Safes, Loomis Courier, Credit Card Terminals, etc.) and prepare training sessions for INFOR Cashier Staff on the use of the equipment.

Responsibilities:

1. Financial Activities * Prepare assigned monthly journal entries in accordance with the internal accounting JE Schedule. * Work with accounting staff to analyze financial information to identify, validate, quantify, and explain variances from Budget. * Assist Accounting Manager with external auditor preparation as needed.

2. Financial Reporting * Assist Accounting Manager with the preparation of monthly financial statements and management reports for presentation to management and the Board of Directors. * Prepare other financial reports as required

3. Treasury * Assist with preparing monthly bank reconciliations and daily cash tracking worksheets * Manage Petty Cash Drawer Auditing process and Petty Cash Drawer establishment * Facilitate review of unclaimed property * Manage the weekly distribution of Patient Refunds imported from EPIC

4. Accounts Payable * Responsible for coordinating the monthly PO135 RNI reporting between the Materials Management/Purchasing and AP teams to bring awareness to any invoicing or payment issues * Responsible for the coordination of the bi-annual MA 180 INFOR * Assist AP Supervisor with maintaining AP forms and vendor payment methods.

5. General: Create INFOR Queries and Adhoc reporting as needed * Assigned to be back up for the Accounts Receivable and Billing Financial Accountant to include creating invoicing, processing incoming payments, resolve collection matters and closing the modules through INFOR monthly

6. Perform other duties as assigned.

<>REQUIRED: Associate's degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance and 5 years' experience preferred in healthcare and/or finance including accounts payable, accounts receivable, account reconciliation or related financial areas.
