This full-time faculty position is on-campus and in-person.
The Department of Economics at Texas Christian University (TCU) invites applications for a renewable, non-tenure-track Instructor position beginning August 2025. The position carries a 4/4 teaching load and no formal research expectation but offers a competitive salary, benefits, two potential promotions in rank (Instructor II and Senior Instructor), the possibility of multi-year contracts, and annual support for professional development including research activity.
The Department seeks a creative economics educator with a passion for student engagement inside and outside of the classroom and a demonstrated commitment to active learning and effective, inclusive teaching in a liberal arts context. The successful candidate will regularly offer two or more of our required foundations courses: introductory microeconomics, introductory macroeconomics, intermediate microeconomics, intermediate macroeconomics, contending perspectives in economics, or econometrics. Of particular interest are candidates able to inspire students from diverse backgrounds and able to develop upper-division elective courses complementary to the Department’s current offerings.
Applicants must have completed a Ph.D. in economics by August 2025.

The TCU Department of Economics is part of the AddRan College of Liberal Arts and offers three undergraduate majors: BA Economics, BS Economics, and BS International Economics. The Department aims to educate students in the theories, methods, and intellectual diversity of modern economics. Our 350+ majors are served by 15 full-time faculty members, a committed group of active scholars and award-winning teachers who approach economics from diverse theoretical and methodological perspectives.

Named for TCU’s founders, Addison and Randolph Clark, the AddRan College of Liberal Arts is home to the core academic disciplines of the humanities and social sciences. The College includes approximately 155 full-time faculty members, 13 departments (Comparative Race & Ethnic Studies, Criminology & Criminal Justice, Economics, English, Geography, History, Modern Language Studies, Philosophy, Political Science, Religion, Sociology & Anthropology, Spanish and Hispanic Studies, and Women & Gender Studies), and two units of Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (Army and Air Force). AddRan College departments confer 17 Bachelor of Arts and 7 Bachelor of Science degrees, a Bachelor of General Studies, an online master’s degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice, a Master of Liberal Arts degree, and master’s and Ph.D. degrees in History, English, and Rhetoric and Composition.
