The University of Washington, School of Environmental and Forest Sciences invites applications for a full-time (100% FTE; 80% teaching, 20% service), nine-month, faculty position at the level of Assistant Teaching Professor in the field of environmental and forest sciences to support our large and growing undergraduate and graduate programs. The successful candidate could contribute to leadership in experiential learning and assessment, with opportunities for pedagogical research on topics such as teaching effectiveness and/or diversity, equity, and inclusion. The successful candidate will contribute to service and core courses within the School of Environmental and Forest Sciences. Upper-division and graduate-level curriculum could be also developed in the applicant's area of expertise, potentially addressing key needs in environmental and forest management, stewardship planning, resource measurement, and policy.
We welcome people of all backgrounds, who bring a range of perspectives and life experiences. We acknowledge that if the environmental and forest sciences do not adequately reflect the diversity of national and local populations, then science, policy and management are much less likely to reflect the knowledge, interest, and will of all stakeholders. The successful candidate is expected to contribute substantially to our ongoing efforts to create an ever more inclusive environment. We encourage applications from candidates from underrepresented groups.
