This position will support the mission and vision of Baylor University by leading a Financial Aid team in maintaining a customer service focus in the administration of financial aid. Strong leadership, relationship building, and communication are critical components of this position. The role will demonstrate robust core competencies, most notably: facilitating a commitment to succeed, leading by example, a desire to continue professional development and learning, teaching, and developing others, being an innovative thinker and having an ability to be decisive with a service-minded attitude. These attributes will support the Financial Aid office in efficient, timely, and accurate administration of financial aid.
A bachelor's degree and five years of relevant work experience are required. A master's degree and eight years of relevant work experience are preferred.
Additional education or experience will be considered in lieu of one another.
Required skills and qualifications:
Intermediate experience with Excel, Banner, Federal Student Aid, COD, NSLDS, and other similar or related agencies, systems, and platforms.
Knowledge of current Department of Education Financial Aid Regulations and Title IV Aid programs.
Knowledge of institutional, state, and private aid programs, requirements, and regulations.
Knowledge of aid administration in conjunction with athletic aid eligibility, including NCAA, Big 12, and Baylor policies and regulations.
Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy, professionalism, integrity, and customer service focus.
Ability to lead, inspire, monitor, and supervise employees to achieve goals that contribute to the mission of Baylor University.

Additional preferred skills and qualifications:
Advanced Excel skills and experience with reporting and data analysis.
Strong analytical and critical thinking to identify patterns, gaps, research solutions, assess performance, and support implementation of processes, procedures, and policies.
A hybrid work arrangement will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
A valid Driver License with a clear driving record of at least two years is required.
Must be able to travel outside of the state of Texas.
Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States on a Full-Time basis.
What You Will Do
Serve as a leader and supervisor for teams who administer and advise on financial aid programs by maintaining a thorough knowledge of all applicable federal, state, NCAA Division I regulations, Big 12 policy, and university policy, procedure, and regulations.
Provide direct leadership for staff, ensure compliance, assist with system configuration, facilitate meetings, provide data analysis for areas of responsibility, presentations, collaboration with FA office teams, establish benchmarks and goals for day-to-day operations of the team.
Establish and promote collaborative cross-functional processes among all office staff and external units.
Must be prepared to assist in the day-to-day duties and leadership functions of any area within the office, as needed.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to leverage institutional partnerships for strategic initiatives and projects.
Responsible for creating and maintaining process-improvement strategies to ensure optimal process efficiency for financial aid administration, resulting in high quality student experiences.
Provide input and support for new initiatives.
Ensure each area of direct supervision has and maintains written procedures and training materials.
Identify training needs to then provide and facilitate trainings.
Resolve discrepancies and provide problem resolution to ensure accuracy.
Provide support and assist with written responses for internal and external financial aid inquiries.
Attend internal and external training sessions, to include some travel, as required.
Assist with special projects and any other tasks assigned by supervisor.
Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission
