Baylor University is seeking an Assistant Vice Provost, Post Award Administration to provide leadership, strategic planning, and organizational direction to the Post-Award Office and Office of the Vice Provost for Research (OVPR).
A Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant work experience are required. A Master's degree is preferred.
A preference will be given to candidates within driving distance to campus. Hybrid/remote work will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

What You Will Do
Direct day-to-day activities within the Post-Award Office, under direction from the Associate Vice Provost for Research, while managing and overseeing career development, performance, and training activities of staff.
Monitor and manage post-award research administration activities in accordance with federal and state regulations and guidelines, including federal OMB Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200), State of Texas Uniform Grant Management Standards (UGMS), sponsor specific, and institutional policies.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and funding terms and conditions through the management and monitoring of research account set up, award maintenance, invoicing, financial reporting, cash management, and closeout.
Oversee post-award financial management operations, including project set up, invoicing and letter of credit draws, accounts receivables and cash application, departmental adjustments/cost transfers, sponsored financial reporting, closeout, and effort reporting.
Oversee post-award university research administrators (URAs) to support faculty in grant management activities, including expense initiation, expense review, cost transfers, award balance monitoring and projections, and award modification requests, subrecipient management, and closeout.
Manage sponsored programs within the Oracle Project Portfolio Management (PPM) module and in accordance with applicable Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Collaborate with the Pre-Award, Research Compliance, Financial Services, college/school business offices, local research administration, and other departments, as needed, to establish guidelines, policies, procedures, and best practices for managing sponsored research effectively and in accordance with institutional compliance and applicable federal, state, and agency regulations.
Ensure provision of excellent customer service to faculty, local research administrators, and sponsors in the ongoing administration of sponsored research by serving as an expert resource to the Baylor research community.
Provide regular, reoccurring Post-Award financial and performance metrics to OVPR, Financial Services, Data and Analysis, and institutional leadership.
Provide ongoing support in the use of the CARA electronic research administration system and the Oracle financial system to maximize efficiencies in business processes and assist in the evaluation and implementation of future solutions in support of research administration.
Liaise with Financial Services and represent OVPR for all external sponsored programs audits including the annual Single Audit.
Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission.

The budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $110,000 - $120,000. The full salary range for this position classification is $89,112.20 - $147,035.13.
This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certification, analysis of internal equity, and other business and organizational needs.
