Description: Baylor University's Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry seeks to hire two full-time, non-tenure-track Lecturers.
These are renewable positions, with 6-year promotion paths to Senior Lecturer for successful candidates. Responsibilities include serving as the teacher of record for undergraduate lecture courses and/or associated laboratories, training and guiding Graduate Teaching Assistants (GTAs), course development, safety, laboratory supervision, undergraduate student oversight, and grading. The candidate will be expected to meet Baylor's high standards of undergraduate education.
Qualifications: Candidates should possess an earned doctorate degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a closely related field by the start date of August 1, 2025.
Previous teaching experience is preferred but not required. However, successful candidates will also be able to contribute to one or more of the following: course development, training, and oversight of Graduate Teaching Assistants, mentoring of undergraduate students, and supervision of student labs. Additionally, successful candidates should be capable of serving as the Teacher of Record for a range of undergraduate chemistry courses that may include: CHE 1301/02 (General Chemistry), CHE 1341 (Introductory Biochemistry), CHE 4141/41 (Biochemistry), CHE 4316 (Instrumental Analysis), and associated laboratory courses.
