Position Description:
We are recruiting for a Data Governance Manager to join our team! This will be a key role for the new Enterprise Data Governance Function & Organization.
Key Responsibilities include:
Implement a robust data governance framework and strategy to ensure the quality, integrity, and consistency of data across the organization. Collaborate with key stakeholders to define data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
Provide guidance and support to data stewards in managing data quality, data definitions, and resolving data-related issues.
Develop and deliver training programs and workshops to educate employees on data governance principles, processes, and best practices. Raise awareness about the importance of data governance and foster a data-driven culture across the organization.
Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations, industry standards, and internal policies. Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to establish and maintain data governance controls and procedures.
Lead on building the and managing the Enterprise Data catalog ensuring standardization across naming conventions, data descriptions, KPI standardization thus ensuring ease of access to data and one source of truth across the enterprise.
Establish data quality standards to ensure data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and integrity.
Assist in Data profiling and analysis by examining data sources, identifying issues, and analyzing data quality trends to address anomalies and discrepancies.
Collaborate with stakeholders by working closely with data owners, data custodians and data users to understand requirements, guidance on data quality best practices.
Strive for continuous improvement by proactively identifying areas for data quality enhancement and recommending process improvements, tools, or technologies to optimize data quality management.
Qualifications:
Critical Skills:
Previous Data Governance Implementation experience in large matrix organizations.
Ability to navigate significant business relationships and align where both parties achieve a win-win outcome.
Demonstrates a thorough understanding of the Data Governance life cycle.
In-depth and demonstrated knowledge of standards, data management regulations, policies and principles (preferably applicable to the Healthcare industry).
Experience understanding business functions and mapping them to data artifacts.
Strong analytical skills with an aptitude of understanding complex business processes and functions.
Proficient knowledge and experience with regulated and/or legal environment and requirements.
Additional Knowledge & Skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Planning, organization, and execution skills.
Education
Bachelor's degree (in Business Administration, Information/Data Science, Informatics, Computer Science, Economics, or related field), or equivalent experience.

As part of Total Rewards, we are proud to offer a competitive compensation package at McKesson. This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.
Our Base Pay Range for this position
$110,000 - $183,300
