Administrative Innovation and Technology (AdminIT) is part of the Finance, Operations and Administration organization and manages a diverse end to end portfolio of technology and provides continuous improvement services essential to the entire UC Davis campus including UC Davis Health System.
The AdminIT Systems Operations & Data Services is a department dedicated to delivering top-quality technical solutions and data management services to AdminIT partnered managed information systems within Finance, Operations, and Administration (FOA). Our mission is to ensure the reliability and stability of information systems, while building solutions that allow for systems and data to be reusable, reliable, actionable, accessible, and insightful for end-users. Our team provides a wide range of services including server and database management, cloud administration, DevOps and release automation, application administration and support, batch job processing, data integration and analysis, vendor management, security and audit compliance, data extract, transformation and loading, as well as business intelligence reporting and analytics.

The position, reporting to the Director of Operations & Data Services, will work independently and collaborate closely with senior Cloud, DevOps, Systems, and Database Administrators in the team. The role will focus on providing experienced, in-depth administration, development, and support for the AdminIT Cloud IaaS and PaaS services and CI/CD platforms within the Finance, Operations & Administration (FOA) organization. This support will span across various departments such as Finance, Supply Chain, HR, Payroll, Institutional Analysis, Budget, Facilities, Conference and Events, and other FOA units requiring Cloud infrastructure and Continuous Integration and Development support. The position will regularly collaborate with project managers, programmers, and quality assurance staff across other AdminIT units in support of all aspects of a system lifecycle from development to production operations.
The position will utilize automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles to provision, configure, and deploy resources in the cloud. Responsibilities will encompass infrastructure deployment, implementing security measures, troubleshooting issues throughout the lifecycle, and optimizing resources for performance and cost. Strong expertise in Linux-based Operating Systems, including command line proficiency and shell scripting, is essential for administering Linux-based services managed by this role.
Additionally, the position will be responsible for automating software delivery, streamlining release cycles, and enhancing the overall efficiency and quality of software development through automation, scripting, version control, containerization, and use of API services.
