The Patient Estimate Team in SBO Patient Collections is responsible for handling all aspects of preservice estimating of patient financial liability, communicating with patients, clinical staff and pre-service collection. The team provides advanced complex analysis and research of billing and contracting issues to ensure compliance with federal price transparency regulations and industry best practice.

Responsibilities The Administrative Supervisor provides direct supervision typically to professionals or skilled technical employees. Functions as advisor to unit and administration. Analyzes and resolves problems, interprets policies (such as fiscal management, HR, contracts and grants, resource management in defined areas) and demonstrates solid subject matter knowledge. Utilizes judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action. Supervises staff to assure accountability and stewardship of department resources (operational, financial, and human) in compliance with departmental goals and objectives. Supervises approximately 2 employees.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working in a leadership role in Patient Access, or directly with Patient Estimates
Previous experience working with patient registration in a hospital environment
Demonstrated skills in employee supervision and HR administration
Extensive analytical skills to assess account balances and make decision on further action needed
Solid knowledge of financial analysis and reporting techniques; human resources and risk management planning; accounting and payroll
Advanced knowledge of Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) and International Classification of Disease (ICD-10) policies related to medical billing.
Knowledge of HIPAA, FDCPA and other credit and collections rules and regulations
Solid knowledge MS Office, Excel and other data reporting software
Detail-oriented, with proven ability to effectively manage time, see tasks and projects through to completion, organize competing priorities and effectively address complex, urgent issues as they arise
Solid interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising, and counseling to effectively motivate others
Solid skills to quickly evaluate complex issues and identify resolution
Solid knowledge of the organization's processes, protocols and procedures with a focus on budget, account and fund management and / or personnel management within labor contract(s) and personnel policy
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience working in a clinic environment working directly with patient registration, authorization and referrals for medical specialty, primary care and radiology
Previous experience with EPIC
Call center experience
Previous auditing and reporting experience
Special Requirements This position may be subject to a criminal background investigation, drug screen, Live Scan fingerprinting, medical evaluation clearance, and functional capacity assessment.
