Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is an independent, nonprofit organization providing adult cancer treatment and groundbreaking research focused on cancer and infectious diseases. Based in Seattle, Fred Hutch is the only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center in Washington.

The Stem Cell and Gene Therapy (SCGT) program is recruiting a Research Technician I with a focus on bench research. Duties may include processing and analysis of primary blood and tissue samples for flow cytometry, PCR, sterile cell culture work with cell lines and primary cells. Research projects will include the genome editing of blood stem cells and the generation of chimeric antigen receptor T cells.

Responsibilities

• PBMC isolation of blood samples
• Preparation and running of samples for flow cytometry
• Maintenance of stable cell lines
• Purification, cloning, and manipulation of RNA, cDNA and genomic DNA
• Assist in the design of experiments

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• BA/BS in a scientific field required.
• Must have some scientific knowledge in the area of study and basic laboratory skills.
• Candidates with excellent organizational and communication skills (written and oral) plus an ability to work well in a multidisciplinary team environment are encouraged to apply

Preferred

• Experience with cell culture, flow cytometry, and/or molecular biology techniques e.g. PCR is strongly desired

The hourly pay range for this position is from $21.56 to $30.69 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
