Position Summary:
The UCI Institute for Memory Impairments and Neurological Disorders (UCI MIND) is Orange County's only state and federally funded Alzheimer's Disease Research Center. The Institute is composed of faculty and staff from multiple Departments and Schools, ranging from basic laboratory scientists to physician investigators, with a common goal of research discovery to improve the diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and cure of age-related brain diseases, especially Alzheimer's disease.
Under the direct supervision of the MODEL-AD Bioinformatics and data management core leader, the incumbent will be responsible for functional genomics library preparation and sequencing of newly developed Alzheimer's Disease and other genetic mouse models in UCI. S/he will also perform equipment management and other related duties as assigned.

$24.77 - $29.56 (Hourly Rate)
Required:
Bachelor's degree in biology, biotechnology, genetics, molecular biology or other closely related field. Highly motivated and service-oriented with strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to communicate clearly and tactfully with a broad variety of people (clients, researchers, lab personnel, fellow employees), both verbally and in writing Proven ability to function effectively as a team member, follow directions, work independently, or in shared assignment with others. Proven ability to adhere to departmental attendance policies and standards. Detail-oriented with demonstrated ability to maintain accurate and legible records to document progress and outcome of experiments, both hand-written and computer entry.

Building RNA-seq and ATAC-seq libraries in mammals
Special Conditions Required:
Available to work occasional weekends, evenings and holidays as needed. Be willing to assist with mouse dissection
