The Student Disability Specialist supports two critical areas: support to students with disabilities and support and consultation for faculty, staff, and clinical sites who work with our students.

The Student Disability Specialist, under the direction of the SDS Co-Directors, is responsible for evaluating and determining disability and accommodations and the comprehensive and timely coordination and delivery of accommodations to UCSF students with disabilities. The Student Disability Specialist will support SDS Co-Directors as one of the primary resources to educate, train, and assist in guiding the UCSF schools in understanding disability access, rights and responsibilities. The Student Disability Specialist will also interface regularly with faculty, and provide ongoing technical assistance to campus partners regarding the University's obligations to students with disabilities under applicable Federal and State regulations. Responsibilities of the Student Disability Specialist include, but are not limited to: student advocacy, determination and provision of accommodations, site assessments, accessibility problem solving, note-taking services, alternate format materials and assistive technology equipment and software loans, CART and sign-language interpreting services, as well as departmental and collaborative outreach.

**This is a 2 year contract position from date of hire.

Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% - 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.

For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.
