This position exists to provide daily scheduling, event coordination, and negotiating and organizational expertise for the Student Union & Event Services (SUES) department. This position serves as a primary point of contact for Student Union & Event Services in coordinating and facilitating events within Student Union & Event Services-managed spaces at UNLV.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Initiating and maintaining contact with group sponsors; negotiating and monitoring conference/event contracts, in particular, high profile and multi-service contracts Scheduling and conducting pre-event meetings when necessary Pre-event and on-site event management including coordination efforts between various UNLV service providers, including running stake-holder meetings and major event forecasting reports Provide complete “one stop” event management services at the highest level of customer service including contract initiation. Provide support and details for conference housing groups including rooming information, logistics, campus meals and corresponding event logistics. Provide for billing and financial wrap-up following events. Provide re-contracting for some repeat clients within SUES.
This position will work with clients from Registered Student Organizations, University Departments and off-campus entities and ensure customer satisfaction through direct client contact.
Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Executing contract terms and services with conference/event group sponsors
Onsite coordination between Student Life Maintenance and Custodial Teams and client needs
Office service administration
Rotating 24-hour emergency response duty as it relates to events.

This position will require evening and weekend work.
A Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university required or a minimum of 5 years full-time experience in event planning, scheduling or similar field. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment.
Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
