The Strategic Data Partner at CoverMyMeds (McKesson) makes a significant contribution to the success of our company. The role is broadly responsible for value proposition refinement and supporting key customer teams by providing world-class analytics and insight into our vast store of live and evolving data.
This position will collect, manipulate, and analyze business data from a variety of clients and sources. Preparing reports, in the form of visualizations such as graphs, charts and dashboards, detailing the significant results they deduced.
A primary role will be to guard and protect the organization's data, making sure that the data repositories produce consistent, reusable data.
Using standard formulas and methods, perform basic and advanced statistical evaluations and analysis of data in all stages including collection, analysis, and reporting.
You will be required to work closely with both internal teams and external customers to understand, define, and replicate best practices related to data quality and integrity programs.
Responsibilities will include interpreting data, creating ad hoc reports, modifying, and updating standard reports when applicable, perform statistical analysis, analyzing data to forecast trends and conduct predictability outcomes.
Works directly the clients to understand their data needs and communicate the findings. Ensures that the requirements have been gathered and translated to the technical and analytical teams where appropriate. (40% of time)
Uses Structured Query Language (SQL) to gather and assess data from the reporting database, transactional database, operational data store, and external systems to assist internal and external leadership in decision making. (20% of time)
Communicates and disseminates the results of information gathering using BI software, SSRS, and/or Excel to name a few. (20% of time)
Continually assesses data quality throughout the database and coordinates with IT in the correction of source data or creation of translation sources, where applicable. Applies proper analytic methods while accounting for the right nuances, caveats, and limitations of data sources. (5% of time)
Continually researches and identifies best practices for business data analysis via published literature, formalized training, and professional development efforts. (5% of time)
Specific tool capabilities with SAP Business Objects, Microsoft PowerBI, Tableau, and others. (5% of time)
Support's continuous quality improvement efforts using performance metrics development and monitoring, and is able to refines vague asks into clear hypotheses, criteria and objectives while keeping the larger picture in mind. (5% of time)
Typically requires 7+ years of professional experience in addition to data analytics experience.
5+ years of experience in data analytics.
Advanced skills with SQL, Excel, data visualization and analytics tools, such as Tableau and PowerBI.
Excellent communication and presentation skills in presenting analytic results and findings at all levels internally and externally.
Detailed understanding and experience with process documentation and improvement for gaining operational efficiency.
Ability to see the business picture from the analytics data.
Experience being SME on the data and analytics being performed.
Knowledge and Additional Skills
Python, SAS, and R a plus
Healthcare or pharmaceutical industry, highly preferred
Degree or equivalent. 4-year degree in computer science, engineering, analytics, finance, or business preferred. Masters preferred.
