UC San Diego Health HR is looking for a Compensation Coordinator to serve as the process owner for position management. Position Management is used to manage vacant and filled positions, track job details, and facilitate the maintenance of funding and budgets. Positions are the foundation of our HRIS, UCPath, the common thread that binds job, funding, and organizational data together. In UCPath a position is required to hire or rehire an employee. When an "employee" is hired into a "position," a "job" is created. UCSDH employees are assigned to a single headcount position (one-to-one) where a unique position number is assigned to a single employee (Position + Person = Job).
The Compensation Coordinator uses Position Management to create new positions and update existing positions. The Compensation Coordinator is responsible for a high-volume creation and modification of staff positions within UC San Diego Health and Health Sciences. The incumbent meticulously creates, updates, and edits positions within UCPath, and manages the timely completion of PM tasks for a high volume of new positions per week. Provides support to the HHR Compensation team with operations, special projects, related tasks, etc. Responsible for data entry and PM tasks in Case Management System (CMS). Processes batch updates, corrections, and runs reports. Responsible for maintaining PM records in UCPath and associated information.
Six (6) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in related area plus two (2) years of experience in HR and/or data management.
Must possess strong computer and software skills. Skilled in data entry.
Must be highly-detail oriented.
Must possess outstanding verbal and written communication skills and excellent customer service presence.
Ability to exercise critical thinking to determine appropriate actions.
Knowledge of HR case management systems and/or database administration.
Familiarity with compensation and classification practices.
