The Director, Affordability Product Strategy is responsible for creating and maintaining product strategy and setting market strategy related to affordability offerings. The role is responsible for product life cycle management including pricing, product positioning, and customer needs assessments that drive profitability and growth while enabling customer retention. In this role, this individual will support business unit-level strategic decision making by conducting projects related to market analysis, emerging industry trends, portfolio analysis, and identification of strategic needs as it relates to the evolution of the assigned products. This role will provide leadership in the design, development and implementation of strategic initiatives that advance affordability services for our manufacturer partners.
Evolve access solutions product line strategy by creating and maintaining product plans and presenting bi-annually. Develop an understanding of current positioning and operational components of the product offerings and create and present market analysis and competitive positioning on a quarterly basis that enables sales and customer teams to effectively sell and retain customers. Make product strategy, positioning, and competitive landscape available in shared folder for organizational access. (25% of time) Assessment of market and customer needs toward driving new strategies for successfully growing the product line and introduction of 2-3 new services annually. Monitoring and monthly reporting of ongoing achievements toward product strategy plans. (25% of time) The organizational go-to individual for all product line decisions. Representing the organization as a thought leader within industry events by speaking or publishing 1-2 times annually. (20% of time) Develop and maintain product line pricing intelligence and creating a shared environment for access across the organization. Ensuring product profitability maintained at goal levels and customer retention support of Account team. (10% of time) Document and present 1-2 new product ideas annually to executive teams with justifications for resource or financial commitments from the organization. (10% of time) Provide subject matter expertise to sales and customer management to ensure product growth. Representation in monthly sales and account meetings as well as presentation quarterly with those teams. Represent products directly to customers as required by ensuring SME status and integration within the teams. (10% of time)
Typically requires 12 years of health care experience, preferably within pharmaceutical or patient access related field and 4 years of management experience
5+ years within patient access or copay assistance or payer related field
7+ years evaluating business needs and creating solutions
5+ years demonstrated experience developing and delivering product development solutions
Collaborative, customer focused skills, with proven ability to proactively create value-based solutions
Extensive experience managing key relationships and strategic partnerships
Additional Knowledge & Skills
Strategic Thinking: evaluating industry trends, developing long-term implications, and recommending strategies for new business opportunities
Analytical Rigor: ability to bring structure to ill-defined problems and intellectual leadership to problem solving; synthesize insights from analysis and ensure credible, actionable recommendations
Financial Acumen: understanding of financial modeling and experience with financial planning, budgeting in the context of strategic planning to maximize shareholder value
Communications skills: ability to develop rapport and credibility across the organization, promote ideas and proposals persuasively
Degree or equivalent. 4-year degree business or healthcare related field, preferred. Advanced degree in business or healthcare related field preferred

Large percent of time performing computer-based work is required.
