Under direct supervision, primarily provides general administrative support for a project, team, or work unit. Similar to an Office Clerk or Specialist*. May also include some basic data entry and report generation.
Stock and maintain materials inventory for pre-doctoral and graduate endodontic clinics, inclusive of preparation of solutions for the tooth storage containers and the irrigation syringes.
Maintain endodontic equipment and operatories.
Perform basic dental back-office duties related to the day-to-day function of the predoctoral endodontic clinic, similar to a dental assistant exclusive of the chairside assisting tasks.
On a daily basis, the worker is to: manage the materials and supplies inventory, including ordering requests, receiving, stocking, and distribution to individual operatories; restocking of File Caddies with new instruments from inventory; prepare instruments and equipment sent to central sterilization for processing; assist students with proper cleanup procedures and dirty instrument management; check and replenish materials and supplies in each endo operatory; replace materials and equipment in proper locations in each operatory; charge battery operated equipment; assure that each operatory is clean and ready for janitorial service each night.
As needed and on a regular basis; perform equipment maintenance and cleaning; clean suction lines and replace traps; replace filled sharps containers; prepare irrigating syringes with solutions of proper concentrations; prepare thymol tooth storage solutions.
Perform additional, occasional tasks as directed by the Program Director and Clinic Administration such as help with setup and cleanup of equipment and supplies for the WREB exam and DS2 simulation lab.
Enrolled in or on vacation from or is otherwise registered in a Graduate Program with a minimum of 4.5 credit hours
Must have experience using dental clinic environment
Must have great communication skills
Must be a team player
Duties to be performed during the off-hours of the predoctoral endodontic clinic, inclusive of before clinic starts, between clinic sessions, or after clinic ends
