Holley, a leader in automotive aftermarket products, has an opening for a CAD Design Engineer.
Use CAD equipment and applications to work with Document Control, R&D Shop Technicians, and Application Data departments to take conceptualized ideas and formalize them into designs, sketches, specifications and engineering drawings of tooling and equipment. May consult or use resource books, catalogs, outside vendors, etc., to develop detailed drawings and working plans of parts, tooling or pieces of equipment and/or machinery. Work is typified by its non-repetitive R&D nature.
Perform non-routine and moderately complex design tasks requiring the operation and application of Computer Aided Design equipment and applications.
Perform research regarding materials or parts needed. Use as a resource, applicable handbook data and good working knowledge of available catalogs of standard purchasable parts/components.
Work with management personnel in establishing product or process specifications for specific products, tooling, and manufacturing equipment.
Provide technical expertise on specific technical design problems related to existing or new products and machinery.
Perform other duties as assigned.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Extensive working knowledge of 2017 to current Solidworks releases
Working understanding of Solidworks PDM Vault file management system
Comprehensive experience with the 3D sketch aspect of Solidworks
Familiarity with the operation AutoCAD 2021
Proficient use of Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Must have proficient understanding of part, assembly, bill of material, and drawing creation
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Organized, detail oriented, and have the motivation and determination to see projects through to completion
Possess working understanding of basic material properties and mechanical principles
Creative problem solving abilities with an open mind and design flexibility
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or an Associate’s degree from a College or technical school and at least two years of directly related applicable CAD design experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to compose routine reports and correspondence to vendors, customers, and other departments within the company. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
