Responsible for the maintenance and repair of existing irrigation and the installation of new irrigation, operates vehicles and equipment in either a specific or variety of maintenance, construction and/or utility tasks. The work is performed in conformance with policies and procedures of the LCCR Casino. There are times the employee must exercise independent judgment when completing tasks. This employee is under the immediate supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent. The Irrigation Technician is required to report any irregularities in course turf quality to the superintendent or assistant superintendent.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following
Operates the irrigation system on a daily basis.
Detects and makes necessary repairs to the irrigation system.
Accurately reads various gauges as related to the irrigation system.
Operates light/heavy duty vehicles, riding mowers, backhoes, push mowers, rakes, shovels, blowers, sprayers, hand saws, hydraulic boom, small tools and any other equipment associated with turf care.
Stands for long periods of time and uses hand tools, water hoses and weed eaters.
Communicates effectively with other employees in the maintenance department
Sits, stands, stoops and walks intermittently.
Must perform manual labor for extended periods under some unfavorable climatic conditions frequently lifting objects weighing up to 100 pounds.
Shovels dirt, sand and other materials.
Other duties may be assigned.

Education and/or Experience:
High School Diploma or general education degree (GED).
Must have 2 years work experience related to irrigation systems.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Must possess a Washington State Driver’s License with the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of and/or the ability to learn about the care and proper use of tools and equipment used in the development and maintenance of the irrigation system, greens, tees, fairways, hazards, bunkers, irrigation systems, and general grounds of the golf course.
Ability to quickly learn maintenance, care and construction of the greens, tees, fairways, hazards, bunkers, irrigation systems and general grounds of the golf course.
Knowledge of and/or the ability to learn about turf disease, insects, rodents, chemicals, and methods used to control the undesirable elements.
Knowledge of and/or the ability to learn about golf rules and play.
Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with other employees and the public.
Knowledge of and/or the ability to learn occupational hazards and safety precautions.
Must have sufficient physical strength and ability to independently and repeatedly lift, move and carry objects weighing up to 100 pounds and to repeatedly lift, move and carry objects weighing more than 150 pounds with assistance.
Ability to work flexible hours with some weekend and holiday work required.
Ability to perform frequent overtime work.
