To provide support for the Student Resource Center's strategic and innovative programming, and administrative support for the center's daily operations. Oversight of specific programs includes tutoring services, placement testing, and additional projects in keeping with the mission of the center.
Works with Director and Assistant Director to cover all operational hours, including management of student workers and tutors.
Assists with organization of ADA Testing Accommodations
Assists with accommodated test proctoring
Coordinates ongoing support of English 7 in collaboration with the English Department, including the following:
Consults with and giving feedback to the English 7 instructors.
Provide on-going training in best practices in developmental writing support.
Works with Director on hiring and managing student workers as well as tutors.
Manages Placement Tests for Doheny AA Program (If needed)
Schedules, enrolls, coordinates, and administers Accuplacer testing for all incoming AA students.
Schedules, enrolls, coordinates, and administers Language testing for all incoming AA students.
Coordinates remote Accuplacer testing for out-of-state AA students.
Leads proctor all Accuplacer exams for AA students; train additional
Coordinates post-Summer Pathways re-testing in Accuplacer.
Communicates regularly with Accuplacer lead.
Manages traffic and provide assistance to walk-in students, as needed.
Performs other job-related duties, as assigned. This may include additional projects (e.g., data collection; retention initiatives, summer pathways, etc.)
Working knowledge of the English language, basic mathematics
Working knowledge of computers: Microsoft Office, E-learning
Abilities and Skills:
Understanding of, and sensitivity to, the needs of diverse groups of college students
Effectively organize, prioritize, and handle multiple projects to meet necessary deadlines
Effectively work with other departments to coordinate the details of a variety of academic programs
Analytical and detail oriented
Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills
Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree in liberal arts and/or Education preferred
Experience working with developmental learners preferred. Management experience preferred
