Role Overview: The Director of Human Resources guides and manages the Human Resources Department’s services, policies, and programs for the Awty International School by collaborating with the Senior management team with a focus on employee satisfaction, engagement and employment related expertise. The Director of Human Resources contributes to the mission of Awty by focusing on an employee-oriented culture that enhances the Awty community and contributes to the school’s mission, inclusion and diversity efforts. Primary Functions - The Director of Human Resources will: Provide consultation with Senior Administrators related to compensation, salary scale, benefits, job postings, recruitment, budget and labor relations. Proactively partner with Senior Administrators and department managers to provide human resource solutions on a daily basis. Provide insights and expertise into industry trends, benchmarks and human resource related topics inside and outside of the Awty International School. Ensure employee orientation, employee agreements, benefits plan enrollment, policies and procedures, employee handbook updates, database management procedures, equal opportunity employment enforcement and employee records and documentation policies are addressed accurately, effectively and reflect the mission of the Awty International School. Focus on employees in ways that demonstrates the school’s commitment, appreciation and expectations so employees know they are honored and valued. Advance the continuing efforts around our JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion) efforts. Participate with Employee Welfare Task Force. Supervise payroll in an effective and efficient way along with completing other day-to-day requirements associated with payroll and human resource activities. Develop reporting processes to further enhance the mission of the school. Report to the CFO on issues regarding implementation of policies and procedures, safety of the workforce, recruiting and hiring high-performing employees, and legislative and other human resources issues. Maintain compliance with federal, state and local laws and industry regulations as appropriate to continue and advance the success of the Awty International School. Advise department managers on legal implications of HR issues. Manage the HR department under the direction of the CFO. As an International school, an essential focus for HR is the ever-changing immigration requirements as it relates to our expatriate community including onboarding, work authorizations, visa solutions and expertise, relocation efforts, communication and legal requirements in this evolving area. The Director of Human Resources assumes other responsibilities as assigned by the HOS and the CFO. The salary is competitive.
