![]() Scope 3 Emissions Program Manager Stanford University Product/Program Management Manager 2 Job Family: Marketing Job Series: Product/Program Manager Job Code: 4919 Grade: L Exemption: Exempt Scope 3 Emissions Program Manager JOB PURPOSE: Over the past decade, Stanford University has reduced its Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) by 80% and is on track to eliminate 100% by 2030. Progress to date has been accomplished through energy-saving building retrofits, the Stanford Energy System Innovations initiative (SESI) and development of two solar photovoltaic facilities that will supply 100% of campus electricity when completed next year. In June 2020, the Board of Trustees passed a resolution calling for the university to eliminate or fully mitigate its Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions by the year 2050. The Scope 3 Emissions Program (Program) has two principal objectives:
This Scope 3 Emissions Program is being sponsored by the Vice President of Business Affairs (VPBA) and will be housed within Business Affairs. The Program will collaborate closely with multiple Stanford units, especially the Office of Sustainability in LBRE, Procurement in Financial Management Services and the new sustainability school. In addition, the Program will be advised by a faculty steering committee. As a result, we have an outstanding opportunity for a Program Manager to launch and lead this effort. Reporting directly to the VP of BA, this position will be responsible for:
The Program Manager will have the opportunity initially to hire one full-time analyst. In addition, the Program Manager will draw on resources from many other campus units to collaborate in the effort. CORE DUTIES:
