The QA Specialist II performs non-routine quality reviews of environmental investigations and associated activities. Interprets and implements procedures and contractual deliverables and monitors the review process to ensure adherence to deadlines. Provides administrative support and detailed technical assistance to investigators. Reviews compliance documents, identifies errors, and determines next course of action.
Performs quality assurance of investigation documentation completed by Investigators or processed by other QA staff; processes, assigns and provides direction, and follows up on compliant and non-compliant investigations and out-of-service facilities. Provides support to the QA Team Leader and Investigators regarding scheduling investigations, assisting and tracking team assignments and preparing work status reports. Ensures staff follow Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) protocols and procedures associated with investigation files; makes recommendations for resolution of problems and process improvements. Communicates with management and the client on technical matters and noncompliant investigation findings. Assigns and assists with reconciliation and preparation of end-of-month investigation reports for delivery to the client. Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in a related field. Two (2) years of quality assurance work experience or the equivalent experience.
Two (2) years of TCEQ experience performing quality assurance on compliant and non-compliant on-site TCEQ investigations. One year of experience with and working knowledge of TCEQ Consolidated Compliance and Enforcement Data System (CCEDS) and Permit and Registration Information System (PARIS); Secretary of State database access; UTA Petroleum Storage Tank Investigation System (PiTS).
